Specialist Endodontist

About Dr Neha Patel

Hello, I am Dr Neha Patel. I am a GDC-registered specialist endodontist – endodontics is the area of dentistry concerned with the inside of the tooth, treating infection and pain at the root to save teeth that might otherwise be lost.

I am qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at the University of Bristol in 2008, trained in oral surgery and restorative dentistry at Liverpool Dental Hospital, and completed my specialist training in endodontics at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ in 2018, gaining my Membership in Endodontics with Distinction. I completed my PhD in 2025, researching vital pulp treatments and restorability decisions.

Alongside clinical practice, I am a Consultant in Endodontics, a Senior Clinical Lecturer, and Programme Director for the MSc in Endodontics at King’s College London. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, mentor trainee specialists, have lectured internationally and contributed to dental textbooks.

At Thames Dental and Skin, my focus is straightforward: relieving pain, treating root infection precisely under the dental microscope, and saving natural teeth wherever it’s possible to do so.

There's nothing more satisfying than relieving someone's pain and saving a tooth they thought they'd lose. My aim is always the best possible outcome for the tooth in front of me - treated precisely, explained clearly, and with as little discomfort as possible.

FAQs

Neha is a GDC-registered specialist endodontist at Thames Dental and Skin. She treats infection and damage inside the tooth - root canal treatment and re-treatment, endodontic surgery, and the management of cracked, injured and immature teeth - working closely with our dentists and your own dentist.

An endodontist is a dentist with several years of additional specialist training in treating the inside of the tooth - the pulp and root canals. Neha is on the GDC specialist register for endodontics, which means she treats more complex root canal problems than general dentistry alone.

Severe toothache should be assessed promptly. Call us on 020 8398 9466 and we'll do everything we can to see you quickly; we offer same-day and next-day emergency appointments where needed.

Most patients see Neha following a referral from their own dentist, though self-referrals are welcome too. Call us on 020 8398 9466 and we'll arrange your appointment; if you've been referred, bring any details your dentist has provided.

Yes. If a root canal hasn't fully healed, Neha can reassess the tooth and, in many cases, re-treat it - giving the tooth a further chance before extraction is considered.

We're in Thames Ditton and see patients from across Surrey - Thames Ditton, Kingston upon Thames, Surbiton, Esher, East Molesey, West Molesey, Walton-on-Thames, Hinchley Wood, Long Ditton, Cobham, Weybridge and Hampton.
